FASHION IN FOCUS: Dylan and Barbara for WMag

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen me raving over this feature on Wmag. The new Insta-fave couple who are killing this shoot and giving us major couple-goals vibes are one of our favourite faces and the other: a childhood legend. The reason for the pretty pictures is because I adore the styling, mood and story-telling elements of them. I'm struggling to pinpoint a specific era/culture as that's far beyond my areas of expertise but I think it's safe to say that looking at the pictures, you can see a story. For me, that seems to be enough.

FASHION IN FOCUS: Versace Tribute

Since I had been looking at Versace from the recent Met Gala, I came across the Tribute collection from the brand. As you can see this consists on boldly silk-printed gold and and black pieces, heavy gold hardware in the form of jewellery or fastening and jet-black smooth leather. 

Within the Tribute collection, the brand has brought out collections amongst; one being Tresor De La Mer. This is described as Stars, shells and Medusa's - the creatures of the depths of the Mediterranean sea: Gianni Versace's inspiration. This gorgeous collection features some unique pieces, such as a starfish shaped crystal ring in gold and a cropped stark-white denim jacket fully printed with treasures from under the sea...in gold. 

The Medusa Madness collection is the one featured below. *This regal collection is said to be bound by the Medusa - with gold or leather, the medusa curse is forever. With a simple three-colour palette, the collection is anything but simple. I obviously adore this collection, hence the feature, but I want to know, what do you think of it?

This is the closest I've ever gotten to a digital piece of artwork, usually I tend to keep my illustrations more sketchy and fluid. I thought this would be a good one to illustrate digitally as it consists of straight lines. This was more of a challenge than I originally thought as illustrating glass is simply not fun, and more time consuming than I had thought. However, I think all the time invested in this really paid off as it is an outcome that I'm really happy with. 

WISHLIST: Desenio

Following on from my previous post, can you tell I'm on a bit of a homeware buzz at the moment? This website I discovered on Instagram, if you fancy looking at some homeware porn and love a good gallery wall, @desenio is for you. Don't believe me? Well check out these I nicked from their Instagram...

There is a theme running through these which I respond really well to; dark, luxurious emerald greens and blues with pops of metallic gold. The pairing of velvety fabrics, block colours, and addition of plants just really bring the pictures to life. If these don't tickle your fancy however, I've popped in a few of my favourite prints - with no rhyme or reason, I just hope these are more to your liking.

The reason I am completely awed by Desenio is because of the wide range and variety of posters and print they feature; everything from fashion to maps - and everything in between! I love the fact that I've discovered multiple designers and creators through this website and I can say that I genuinely just adore pretty much every single poster from this site.

 Just thought I'd share my newest illustrations with you guys...

So I recently discovered a new designer through the muddle of Instagram. Through this discovery I also found a fantastic jewellery designer and a model I was unfamiliar with - all from one picture! ... aah the joys of Insta..

Anyway I haven't been able to shake this picture out of my head; I knew I needed to buy the earrings or illustrate the picture. Needless to say, I opted for the latter...
