FASHION IN FOCUS: Dolce and Gabbana

Following the D&G illustration in the last post, I felt the need to share the following images (- also I feel the need to pop in a quick disclaimer - obviously these are not my images and unfortunately there is no link for the source for these, I've pulled them from the deep, dark corners of the world wide web. Please let us just leave it at that.) Whenever I feature a collection I'm obsessing over I always spend a paragraph or four gushing about how gorgeous the collection is...

Do I really NEED to here? I mean Oh Em Geee! I don't even have the words (for once). The red, the lace, the use of the crosses, the gold hardware, the location, the styling, the Italian hunks and most importantly, the addition of Monica Bellucci! If I have missed anything, please pin it to the sheer speed of my fingers as they type this post with far too much excitement because there is not a single thing I would change about these visuals.

Also, just before I sign this post off I wanted to do another little disclaimer. I searched for days upon end for the actual collection to be able to reference this correctly, however, as I mentioned I did find these beauties from the iffy parts of the internet, so for once, I am unsure of the exact collection. I want to say 2013/2014, but I could be wrong...I am probably wrong. PLEASE if you know let me know below!

ILLUSTRATION: Dolce and Gabbana

So those of you who have been following me for a while will be familiar with this lovely lady. This is actually one of my illustration from my uni days. It was originally based on a D&G Spring/Summer collection. The brand came out with a red on red collection which was one of my absolute favourite!

As I haven't had the time to produce a new illustration, I thought I'd give this old one a quick revamp. In comparison to my illustrations now, I think the style differs slightly. The lace overlay is blurry and I'm not 100% on the skirt. That being said, I don't hate it. Hope you like it!

ILLUSTRATION: Kaia Gerber

It's not much of a surprise now is it? I think it's becoming clear that the format of my blog is to: A) post about something I'm obsessing over and B) to draw it. Hence, illustration beneath...

ILLUSTRATION: Fendi Autumn/Winter 2017

Was so inspired by the collection from Fendi (see post) that I decided to illustrate one of my favourite looks from it. This look stood out to me because of the mixture of textures and combination of black fabrics. I adore the details as well as the silhouette, and the overall styling of this outfit is so subtle, wearable and chic.

This illustration enabled me to experiment with creating different textures. Obviously with the use of Adobe Photoshop, I was able to achieve this look, however, this year my aim is to strengthen my Adobe skills. We'll see how it goes...

FASHION IN FOCUS - Fendi Autumn/Winter 2017

So glad I cam across this past collection from Fendi because there is not a single thing I don't love about it. The first thing that stands out to me are the colours; I absolutely adore the kinky pops of cherry-red leather, the different textures of black and most of all, the sheen of the oxford blue printed fabric.

I absolutely adore the addition of the over-the-knee boots, they are such a statement. Add in some midi length skirts and dresses that allow a peak of the shiny leather, pair in some classic pieces such as a collard coat or a shirt dress. The macrame-like cut outs, fantastic knits and geometric prints are just a bonus.

One look from the collection I desperately wish would translate onto the High Street is the one worn by Bella Hadid - mind you, it's not too far off from what we are now seeing on the daily. I think it might just be the red thigh-highs that we're missing.

FASHION IN FOCUS - Victoria Beckham S/S 2018

Absolutely in love with Victoria Beckham this upcoming season. For me, the mix of pastel colours is genius and so novel and modern - it feels like a breath of fresh air! Whilst I adore pretty much everything within this collection, my favourite is the outfit consisting of a crisp, white shirt with, what resembles a double-layered collar, a salmon coloured midi length skirt, and a pair of sage green court shoes with a slight metallic finish. The star of the show is, no doubt, the cornflower blue Vanity Camera Bag. Something about its neat shape, rounded edges and simplicity just works.
